TOMORROW: Community College Workforce Training and Programs Committee to hold first meeting

CARSON CITY, NV - January 26, 2022

Tomorrow, the Community College Workforce Training and Programs Committee – created out of Assembly Bill 450, brought forward by Governor Steve Sisolak – will hold its first meeting at the Nevada System of Higher Education Board room in Las Vegas.

“I am so excited for this work to begin – the members of this committee have critically important work ahead of them. As we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, we are focused on creating educational opportunities to help meet the needs of existing trades and professions and plan for the future,” Gov Sisolak said.

The legislation was first proposed during the Governor's 2021 State of the State address with the intent of aligning workforce training and programs offered by community colleges in Nevada, to ensure that Nevadans are trained and ready for the demands of the current workforce.
