CARSON CITY, NV - February 08, 2021
Today, Governor Steve Sisolak has approved Board Member Johnson’s continued service to the Nevada Gaming Control Board for several additional months. Johnson was originally appointed to the Nevada Gaming Control Board on November 12, 2012, and was reappointed in 2017. Board Member Johnson completed his second term as a member of the Board on January 29, 2021. With this approval, Johnson will be serving in a holdover capacity until the Governor appoints a new individual to the position.
“I am grateful that Terry Johnson will continue his service to the Nevada Gaming Control Board,” said Gov. Sisolak. “With the recent resignation of former Board Chair Sandra Douglass Morgan and the appointment of a new chair, J. Brin Gibson, and with the 81st Session of the Nevada Legislature recently kicking off, Board Member Johnson will provide continuity and longtime experience as the Gaming Control Board continues to work with the gaming industry to achieve widespread vaccination against COVID-19 while also managing their regulatory responsibilities and additional tasks associated with the current session. I thank Terry for his longtime contributions and for his willingness to provide continuity and his expertise to our great State.”
When the Governor appoints a new individual to this position, the tenure of the Board position will run for 4 years from the final date of Member Johnson’s current term or January 29, 2021.
