WHEREAS, Line Renaud was born Jacqueline Ente on July 2, 1928, in Pont-de-Nieppe, France where she quickly developed a talent in the musical arts; and
WHEREAS, Line made her national debut on Radio Luxembourg in France and thus rose to international stardom touring around the world, which included a residency in Las Vegas at The Dunes Hotel from 1963-1965; and
WHEREAS, her illustrious career included performances at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas and a starring role in the television show Telle est Line, recording songs in English and French; and
WHEREAS, Line Renaud has dedicated her life to raising funds for AIDS research and has remained an important activist for those affected; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada is proud to celebrate Line Renaud for her career-long accomplishments in entertainment and AIDS activism and would like to recognize her as an honorary citizen of the Silver State;
