Nevada Department of Health and Human Services Director Richard Whitley to Serve in the Sisolak Administration

CARSON CITY, NV - January 15, 2019

Director of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Richard Whitley will continue to serve in the Sisolak administration.

“I am pleased to have Director Whitley continue to serve our state at the helm of the Department of Health and Human Services,” said Governor Sisolak. “Richard’s experience at DHHS, as well as his long public service career here in our state, will be incredibly valuable as we continue to move Nevada forward.”

Whitley has served as director of DHHS since June of 2015. Prior to his appointment, Whitley served for fifteen years at the Nevada Division of Public Health before becoming the interim administrator of the Nevada Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services. He became the first administrator of the new Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health when the two divisions merged in June of 2013. Whitley began his career in public service as an institutional psychologist for the Nevada Women’s Correctional Facility.
