
WHEREAS, Christine Rakow is retiring from the Office of the Secretary of State on March 3, 2026, after 30 years of dedicated service to the people of the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Christine began her career with the State of Nevada, Secretary of State's Office on February 5, 1996, where she worked in the Commercial Recordings Division, and was involved in the pilot program to create the Customer Service function under Secretary of State, Dean Heller; and
WHEREAS, Christine has served the people of the State of Nevada in various roles, including serving as the mailroom leader for several years, then becoming the supervisor of the mailroom team; and
WHEREAS, Christine was steadfast in performing her duties while leading her team through the Covid pandemic, often the only person working in the Laxalt Building during this time, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to serving others, both those we serve and her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Christine has had an exceptional career in public service, having her hand in Commercial Recordings with state business license issuance, new filings and amendments, notary services and many more functions in service to Nevadans; and
WHEREAS, Christine transferred over to the Secretary of State Elections Division in 2024 and finally to the Operations Division in 2025 maintaining her dedicated customer service excellence in everything she touches; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada joins with Secretary of State Francisco V. Aguilar, Christine’s loved ones, and her colleagues in expressing a deep appreciation for her 30 years of distinguished service. We extend our best wishes for a happy and well-deserved retirement and a sincere thank you for a job well done!;
