
WHEREAS, Kelli Anderson has served the State of Nevada with exceptional commitment and integrity for 28 years, beginning her service to the State as a Clerical Trainee within the Department of Motor Vehicles in July of 1996, promoting from clerical and administrative support duties to a Services Technician where she made notable contributions to the testing and implementation of the State's Advantage II financial system; and
WHEREAS, in 2001, Kelli transferred to the Office of the
Secretary of State as an Administrative Assistant II continuing her quest to
learn more about State service with a focus on providing excellent customer
service in support of the business incorporation needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, in 2003, Kelli transferred to the Department of Public Safety for an opportunity to advance her knowledge of accounts payable and receivable functions which initiated her involvement and interest with preparedness grants focused on building and sustaining capabilities across state, local, tribal and territorial jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, in 2005, Kelli was promoted within the Department of Public Safety through the Program Officer series assisting with the buildout and capacity of preparedness grants and other related grant programs; between 2007 and 2016, Kelli was promoted through the Grants and Program Analyst series further enhancing an in-depth knowledge of strategic programmatic and fiscal initiatives as her agency transitioned from the Department of Public Safety to the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security; and
WHEREAS, in 2017, Kelli was promoted to her final position within the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security as an Emergency Management Program Manager overseeing all emergency management related grants and programs, assuming leadership roles in the State Emergency Operation Center, and being appointed as the Governor's Alternate Authorized Representative during two State disaster declarations including the 2017 Statewide Flooding incident and the 2020 Statewide Covid-19 incident; and
WHEREAS, Kelli joined the Governor's Finance Office in 2021, was promoted in 2023 to Executive Branch Budget Officer II supporting American Rescue Plan Act funds, and later served as the Cost Accounting lead within the Office of Project Management's financial team, where she helped deliver the State's first successful implementation of the Cost Accounting tool; and
WHEREAS, Kelli has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the mission, vision, and goals of all the agencies she has served through her leadership and willingness to find innovative and strategic solutions through collaboration and challenging the status quo; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Kelli Anderson on her outstanding tenure as a dedicated state employee and joins her family, friends, and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for her years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim January 2, 2025, as a day in honor of
