
WHEREAS, Christopher Laurent is retiring from the Clark County District Attorney's Office on January 7, 2026, after more than 32 years of sustained excellence and distinguished service to the community of Clark County and the citizens of the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Christopher began his career with the Clark County District Attorney's Office on October 18, 1993, as a Law Clerk; he was promoted to Deputy District Attorney on July 2, 1994, and to Chief Deputy District Attorney on December 28, 1998; and
WHEREAS, Christopher served on several teams throughout his career, expertly prosecuting cases as a member of the General Litigation team, the Major Violators team, the Appellate Division, and Case Assessment; and
WHEREAS, Christopher has further served as Team Chief of both the General Litigation team and the Financial Integrity Unit; as Team Chief of the Financial Integrity Unit, Christopher supervised the Major Drug Crimes unit and served as the inaugural chief of Cyber Crimes and Major Fraud, setting the policy for the new unit and acting as a liaison with law enforcement and the Court as the new unit began operation; and
WHEREAS, Christopher has molded, shaped, and guided younger deputy district attorneys throughout his career, ensuring his contributions to the office will remain long after his retirement; and
WHEREAS, Christopher has expertly and zealously represented the State of Nevada in court, acting as the voice of our community's most vulnerable; Christopher's advocacy was always steadfast, constant, and true; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada and the Clark County District Attorney's Office join in expressing our profound and sincere appreciation to Christopher for his years of dedication and service to the residents of the Silver State, earning him the right to enjoy a well-deserved and happy retirement;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim January 7, 2026, as a day in honor of
