WHEREAS, Sally Mendoza began her 30-year career in January 1996 as an Administrative Aid with the Nevada Highway Patrol; and was promoted to Administrative Assistant II under Major Hammack where she served as the Executive Secretary for the Nevada Highway Patrol Command Staff with deep pride and commitment, consistently exemplifying professionalism; and

WHEREAS, in May 2000, Sally transferred to the Commercial Enforcement team, where she played a critical role in serving as the MCSAP Safetynet Coordinator for Southern Command by gathering federal statistical reports and maintained property inventory records and other complex reports; and

WHEREAS, in May 2004, Sally was promoted to Administrative Assistant III under the Training Commander at Highway Patrol, where she served as the training and curriculum coordinator for Southern Command, coordinated training schedules and assigned in-house instructors and demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the professional development and preparedness of Nevada Highway Patrol sworn staff; and

WHEREAS, in June 2006, Sally again was assigned as the Command Staff administrative assistant where she continued to assist the leadership of the Nevada Highway Patrol. In August 2008, Sally took on a more challenging role as supervisor over the Records team at Nevada Highway Patrol where she supervised one administrative assistant and four administrative assistant I's; and

WHEREAS, in August 2012, Sally was promoted to Administrative Assistant IV at the Division of Parole and Probation where she served as supervisor of the Administrative Services team; and in September 2017, Sally was promoted to Interstate Compact Specialist II at the Division of Parole and Probation where she monitored offenders, spoke with victims, she prepared court documentation regarding the status of the individuals for courts and provided appropriate court recommendations; and

WHEREAS, in March 2020, Sally made the decision to return to her passion as an Administrative Assistant IV, overseeing the Administrative Services team at the Division of Parole and Probation; and

WHEREAS, in April 2021, Sally returned to Nevada Highway Patrol as the Administrative Assistant IV serving directly under the Director, Lieutenant Colonel, Major and Captains; and

WHEREAS, we honor and commend Sally for her commitment, outstanding service, and lasting contributions to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Nevada and we especially recognize her heartfelt dedication to the Nevada Highway Patrol; and

WHEREAS, on behalf of all Nevadans, we extend to Sally Mendoza our sincere thanks and gratitude for her 30 years of professional excellence and loyal service to the State of Nevada;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim April 2, 2026, as a day in honor of
