WHEREAS, the UNLV School of Nursing was founded in 1965 with a mission to educate and prepare highly skilled, compassionate, and innovative nursing leaders; and

WHEREAS, for six decades, the School of Nursing has played a vital role in advancing health and healthcare in the State of Nevada through excellence in education, clinical practice, research, and community service; and

WHEREAS, the School of Nursing has graduated thousands of dedicated nurses who have gone on to provide exceptional care in hospitals, clinics, schools, public health institutions, the military, and beyond; and

WHEREAS, the School of Nursing has demonstrated a continued commitment to addressing healthcare inequities and has cultivated leaders who advocate for health justice and improved patient outcomes for all communities; and

WHEREAS, faculty, students, staff, alumni, and community partners have collectively contributed to the School of Nursing’s legacy of excellence and its reputation as a leader in nursing education and innovation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim September 26, 2025, as a day of commemoration of the

UNLV SCHOOL OF NURSING 60TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
