
WHEREAS, ensuring the safety of Nevada’s young learners is of utmost importance; and
WHEREAS, all members of school communities have a duty to create and ensure safe and respectful learning environments for students that are free of bullying, cyberbullying, and discrimination based on race; and
WHEREAS, bullying, cyberbullying, and discrimination based on race create an intimidating and unsafe educational environment that interferes with the academic performance of pupils and their ability to participate in or benefit from services, activities, or privileges provided by a school; and
WHEREAS, in the 2023-24 school year, there were 10,195 reported incidents of bullying, 1,140 incidents of cyberbullying, and 3,359 incidents of discrimination based on race in Nevada schools, highlighting the urgent need for a renewed commitment to these efforts; and
WHEREAS, students, parents, teachers, and community members can use SafeVoice Nevada to report student and school safety concerns through a toll-free tip line, online web report, or through the mobile app; and
WHEREAS, Nevada governing bodies, educators, students, and families must work together to eliminate bullying, cyberbullying, and discrimination based on race;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the week of September 29 – October 3, 2025, as
