WHEREAS, Nevada Day symbolizes the proud moment of our state's admission to the Union on October 31, 1864, through the signature of President Abraham Lincoln, a testament to our resilience during the Civil War; and

WHEREAS, the first Transcontinental Railroad and the Lincoln Highway historically connected Nevada to the nation, and today's Loneliest Road in America, Extraterrestrial Highway, and Great Basin Highway continue to link the vibrant towns and cities across our beloved state, encompassing all 16 counties and Carson City; and

WHEREAS, Nevada Day is a cherished celebration of our state's rich history, heritage, and unyielding spirit of independence; and

WHEREAS, Nevadans have consistently demonstrated incredible resilience, innovation, and community spirit throughout history, from the pioneering settlers of the past to the diverse and dynamic residents of today; and

WHEREAS, the Nevada Day Parade, proudly held each year in Carson City, brings together residents, visitors, organizations, and businesses in a tradition that fosters community pride and civic engagement; and

WHEREAS, the theme for the 2025 Nevada Day Parade, "Wild Wild West," honors our bold frontier legacy, celebrating the enduring values of resilience, independence, and community spirit that embody our state; this year's grand marshal, native Nevadan and legendary rodeo announcer Bob Tallman, exemplifies that spirit; and

WHEREAS, the Nevada Day Parade has been recognized as the Best Annual Event in Carson City, underscoring its profound impact on the community and its cherished status as a tradition for Nevadans of all ages;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim October 31, 2025, as
