WHEREAS, Nevada is home to more than 27,000 teachers, serving nearly 500,000 students statewide; and

WHEREAS, Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary contributions that educators make in shaping the minds, futures, and hearts of our children and communities; and

WHEREAS, Nevada teachers not only impart knowledge, but also inspire creativity, foster critical thinking, instill values of empathy and respect, and encourage lifelong learning; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's teachers work tirelessly to create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for students, often going above and beyond the call of duty to meet the diverse needs of their students; and

WHEREAS, the dedication, passion, and perseverance of teachers serve as a foundation for the success of our future generations, and their impact is felt in every corner of our state and nation; and

WHEREAS, it is essential to honor and express our gratitude to teachers for their invaluable service, and to acknowledge the profound influence they have on shaping individuals and communities for years to come; and

WHEREAS, the state of Nevada holds educators in high regard and recognizes we must invest in our teachers if we wish to invest in the future of our state for generations to come; and

WHEREAS, every Nevadan knows a great teacher who made a difference in their life or in the life of a loved one, and we thank those educators during Teacher Appreciation Week and always;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim May 5-9, 2025, as

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK IN NEVADA
