WHEREAS, each May 1st is recognized as National Law Day across the United States of America, with this year's theme being "Exploring and Renewing Our Duties to One Another Under the Constitution"; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering civic responsibility and understanding of the law as essential to preserving the freedoms and principles upon which our nation was founded; and

WHEREAS, a well-informed community is vital to upholding the rule of law, and educating young Nevadans about the role of law in society is essential to ensuring that future generations appreciate the rights and responsibilities inherent in our constitutional system; and

WHEREAS, exploring and renewing our duties under the Constitution includes understanding that laws exist to protect individuals and communities, and that when young people recognize their role in upholding these principles-by making lawful and responsible choices-they help create a safer, healthier Nevada for all; and

WHEREAS, Project REAL-a nonprofit dedicated to fostering civic engagement and critical thinking in Nevada's youth-has played an instrumental role in promoting legal literacy and empowering young people to make informed decisions that contribute to a more just society; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada encourages all citizens, particularly parents, educators, and mentors, to engage young people in meaningful discussions about their legal rights and obligations, reinforcing the principle that awareness and understanding of the law are fundamental to responsible citizenship; and

WHEREAS, these efforts to enhance legal awareness and civic education will strengthen the foundation of our democracy and contribute to the overall well-being and safety of our state;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2025, as
