
WHEREAS, Michele Fording is retiring from the Nevada Department of Public Safety on June 5, 2025, after 29 years of dedicated service to the people of the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Michele began her career with the State of Nevada on December 11, 1995 at the Department of Motor Vehicles. In 1999, she served in the Governor's Office before moving to the Department of Public Safety in 2000, where she remained for the rest of her career; and
WHEREAS, Michele has served the people of the State of Nevada in various roles, including Clerical Aid, DMV Technician II, Program Assistant II, Press Assistant, Parole and Probation Specialist II, and currently serves as a Pardons Investigator; and
WHEREAS, Michele has consistently and diligently performed her duties while also showing great compassion for others, both those we serve and her peers; and
WHEREAS, Michele Fording has had a remarkable career in public service and has left a mark on those who had the opportunity to work with her; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety Parole and Probation Division and the State of Nevada join her loved ones and peers in expressing a deep appreciation for her 29 years of distinguished service. We extend our best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim June 6, 2025, as a day in honor of
