
WHEREAS, Serena Gallegos is retiring from the Department of Motor Vehicles on February 3rd, 2025, after 32 years of professional excellence and loyal service to the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Serena started her career with the Department of Motor Vehicles on December 14th, 1992, working as a Phone Room Operator formerly known as a Communications Systems Operator; and
WHEREAS, Serena was promoted within the Department of Motor Vehicles on January 31st, 1998, where she began her career with the Department as a Field Services Technician I. Serena continued to progress through the various Technician ranks II, III and IV; and
WHEREAS, Serena was promoted to DMV Services Supervisor in Field Services on January 23rd, 2006, for approximately 9 years; and
WHEREAS, Serena was promoted to DMV Program Officer in Field Services Training Unit on January 5th, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Serena was promoted to DMV Services Manager at the Reno office in Field Services on February 12th, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Serena was promoted to Field Services Deputy Administrator on November 1st, 2021; and Serena was promoted to Field Services Administrator on December 10th, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Serena will be remembered for her compassion for others, as she mentored and coached many peers throughout her 32 years with the DMV, and her kindness, understanding, dedication to service, admiration, immense DMV knowledge, and intuitiveness; and
WHEREAS, Serena will be sincerely missed, both professionally and personally, by all those who had the pleasure and good fortune to work with her; the Department of Motor Vehicles and the State of Nevada join with co-workers and management in expressing our profound and sincere appreciation for Serena's 32 years of outstanding service to this department and the residents of our Silver State, earning her the right to enjoy a well-deserved and happy retirement;
