
WHEREAS, on November 6, 1995, David Roy Evans began his career in public service with the Nevada Secretary of State's Office embarking on a career in which he served Nevadans using his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong desire to assist others; and
WHEREAS, in becoming a Peace Officer for the Nevada Secretary of State, David was able to serve with distinction working for four different Secretaries of State and still managing to serve at high levels in Nevada's National Guard the entire time; and
WHEREAS, David's colleagues have long admired his ability to solve investigations with patience and fortitude, always managing to show how much he cared for those he served; and
WHEREAS, David's leadership and institutional knowledge will be missed, but his legacy will live on in what he shared along the way in his capacity as an investigator, firearms instructor and friend; and
WHEREAS, David not only gave his time and talent to the State of Nevada for nearly three decades, but always managed to do so with the people he served as his main focus, which was demonstrated by his ability to obtain more than a million dollars in court-ordered restitution to be returned to those who Dave was assisting; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada recognizes and honors David Roy Evans for his outstanding years of dedicated public service, and we thank him for a career that has made a difference in so many lives. May his next chapter be filled with the same joy, vigor, and sense of purpose he brought to every day of his service;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim December 2, 2025, as a day in honor of
