
WHEREAS, Sergeant Robert Borchardt began his distinguished 27-year law enforcement career in 1998 as a trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol, serving as a Field Training Officer to mentor and guide new troopers in their professional development; and
WHEREAS, on November 6, 2017, Robert Borchardt was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, overseeing the Las Vegas District Swing Shift Traffic, demonstrating exemplary leadership and commitment to public safety; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Sergeant Borchardt volunteered countless hours, notably collecting donations to purchase Christmas gifts and personally delivering them to children hospitalized during the holiday season, ensuring they experienced the joy and spirit of the holidays; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Borchardt dedicated his career to enhancing road safety across Nevada by rigorously enforcing the Nevada Highway Patrol's "Big 5" priorities, contributing to safer communities; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Borchardt served as an instrumental instructor for several Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and Division-mandated courses, including the Multi-Assault Counter-Terrorism Action Capabilities (MACTAC) training, and High Risk Vehicle Stops, fostering professional excellence among his peers; and
WHEREAS, on August 14, 2025, Sergeant Robert Borchardt will retire after 27 years of dedicated and professional service with the Nevada Highway Patrol, concluding a distinguished career marked by leadership and compassion; and
WHEREAS, on behalf of all Nevadans, we extend to Sergeant Borchardt our sincere thanks and gratitude for his over 27 years of professional excellence, selfless service, and commitment to the safety and well-being of our state. We extend our best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
