
WHEREAS, Michele Jackson is retiring from the Nevada Department of Public Safety on August 1, 2025, after 25 years of dedicated service to the people of the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Michele started her career with the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety, Division of Parole and Probation on July 17, 2000. Following the 2001 Legislative Session, Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety became two separate departments, and the Division of Parole and Probation became part of the newly created Department of Public Safety; and
WHEREAS, Michele has served the people of the State of Nevada in various roles including Parole and Probation Officer, promoted to DPS Sergeant on March 27, 2006, promoted to DPS Lieutenant on May 12, 2014, and promoted to DPS Captain on "Nevada Day", October 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Michele has admirably and steadfastly performed her duties while also showing great compassion for others, both those she serves and her peers; and
WHEREAS, Michele has had a remarkable career in public service and has left a mark on those who had the opportunity to work with her; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety, Division of Parole and Probation, and the State of Nevada join her friends, family and colleagues in expressing our sincere appreciation for her 25 years of distinguished service to the residents of our Silver State. We extend our best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim August 1, 2025, as a day in honor of
MICHELE JACKSON
