WHEREAS, the community colleges of the Nevada System of Higher Education provide high-quality, accessible, and affordable education, serving as a cornerstone for workforce development and economic growth in the state; and

WHEREAS, Great Basin College serves as a vital engine of economic development, workforce training, and lifelong learning in Nevada’s rural communities, fostering an environment of support, innovation, and excellence through the dedication of its faculty, staff, and administrators; and

WHEREAS, Western Nevada College (WNC) plays a crucial role in providing accessible, high-quality education and workforce training across rural Nevada, empowering students and strengthening communities through its commitment to excellence in education; and

WHEREAS, the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) has been empowering its students and communities to achieve, succeed, and prosper since 1971, educating 50,000 students annually and contributing a $1.2 billion economic impact on the region each year; and

WHEREAS, CSN offers more than 300 degrees and certificates, including 56 degrees available entirely online, and provides opportunities for student engagement through 10 intercollegiate sports programs; and

WHEREAS, Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is a leader in innovative education, meeting student and community needs, serving 20,000 students annually in for-credit and non-credit classes at four educational sites in northern Nevada; and

WHEREAS, TMCC provides essential student support services such as counseling, tutoring, and advising to ensure student retention and success; and

WHEREAS, the community colleges of Nevada continue to transform lives, strengthen local economies, and contribute to the prosperity of our state by preparing students for careers in high-demand industries and further educational opportunities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of April 2025 as
