WHEREAS, the State of Nevada is proud to join in celebrating the inauguration of President-Elect Donald J. Trump; and

WHEREAS, Inauguration Day has, for centuries, been a time when the American People join together to welcome a new era of leadership and opportunity; and

WHEREAS, this Inauguration Day, leaders from across the United States have made clear that it is in the best interest of our citizens to raise the flag to full-staff to celebrate the inauguration of our new President; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Speaker Johnson’s decision to raise the flags at the nation’s Capitol to fly at full-staff for inauguration day;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim that:

  1. The United States flag shall be raised to full-staff for inauguration day to celebrate our country’s new leader; and
  2. The United States flag shall be lowered to half-staff after inauguration day to continue the Period of Mourning in effect in light of the passing of former President James Earl Carter, Jr.
