WHEREAS, Fire Chief Charles A. Moore has dedicated 45 years of exemplary service to the fire service and 12 years of service to the citizens of Washoe County, demonstrating unwavering courage, commitment, and leadership; and

WHEREAS, Chief Moore's leadership has been marked by excellence, innovation, and a deep sense of responsibility to the community, leaving an indelible legacy that will be felt for many years to come; and

WHEREAS, Chief Moore's tenure has been characterized by significant accomplishments, including the suppression of major wildfires that threatened the community, establishment of a wildfire division within the Fire District, advanced life support services at each fire station, and fire prevention education of the threat of wildfire, all of which have made a lasting impact on the department and the people it serves; and

WHEREAS, Chief Moore has served as a member of the Governor's Commission on Homeland Security and has dedicated his time and energy for the safety and well-being of the people of Washoe County and will forever remain a respected member of our community and a source of inspiration to all those who serve in the fire service; and

WHEREAS, the retirement of Chief Moore marks the end of an era for the citizens of Washoe County and while we will miss his guidance and leadership, we are grateful for the extraordinary contributions made throughout the years, which will continue to shape the future of the department for generations to come; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada expresses deep gratitude to Fire Chief Charles A. Moore for his service to Washoe County and the State of Nevada. We commend him for his leadership, commitment, and sacrifice and on behalf of all Nevadans, we extend our best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
