WHEREAS, Esports has emerged as a rapidly growing industry, engaging millions of players and viewers worldwide, creating new opportunities for education, competition, and innovation; and

WHEREAS, Nevada recognizes the importance of Esports in shaping the future of digital media, entertainment, and technological development, as highlighted by its inclusion in statewide legislative action in 2023 and the inclusion of Las Vegas Inferno, Inferno Day from the City of Las Vegas; and

WHEREAS, World Esports Day promotes the global awareness of Esports, encouraging participation and celebrating the achievements of players, teams, and communities involved in the Esports ecosystem; and

WHEREAS, the Nevada Esports Education League (NEEL), a nonprofit organization, plays a vital role in advancing Esports education and opportunities for youth across the state through initiatives that encourage academic achievement, teamwork, and digital literacy; and

WHEREAS, the collaboration between NEEL and GameCrafters Festival at Vu Las Vegas Studios for World Esports Day 2024 highlights Nevada's commitment to fostering a thriving Esports community by creating spaces for competition, innovation, and entertainment; and

WHEREAS, Esports events such as Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, and Mario Kart 8 tournaments foster sportsmanship, strategic thinking, and a sense of community among participants, reflecting values important to the state of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, World Esports Day offers an opportunity to promote Nevada's role as a leading hub for technology, gaming, and innovation, with partnerships from key industry players such as Sony, highlighting the state's forward-thinking initiatives; and

WHEREAS, the growth of Esports provides a platform for future careers in gaming, broadcasting, design, marketing, and various technological fields, benefiting the economic and educational development of Nevada's young people; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's leadership in recognizing Esports through events such as World Esports Day underscores its commitment to supporting emerging industries, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring the state remains at the forefront of digital and cultural transformation; and
