Seal of the State of Nevada

WHEREAS, Nevada Day marks the anniversary of the State of Nevada's admission to the Union on October 31, 1864, by signature of Abraham Lincoln; and

WHEREAS, this day serves as a celebration of Nevada's rich history, vibrant culture, and significant contributions to the nation; and

WHEREAS, Nevadans have demonstrated remarkable resilience, innovation, and community spirit throughout history, from the early pioneers who settled the land to the diverse and dynamic residents of today; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's unique heritage includes a legacy of mining, agriculture, entertainment, and scientific advancement, making it a state of both historical significance and modern progress; and

WHEREAS, Nevada Day provides an opportunity for all citizens to reflect on the state's achievements and to honor those whose efforts have shaped Nevada's present and future; and

WHEREAS,  it is fitting and proper to celebrate this occasion with pride and joy, while recognizing the many individuals and communities that contribute to the state's continued prosperity and success; and

WHEREAS, we urge all Nevadans to participate in the parade, festivities, activities, and community events that honor our state's heritage and celebrate our collective achievements. Happy Birthday Nevada;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim October 31, 2024, as
