Seal of the State of Nevada

WHEREAS, sharing this uncommonly curious and beautiful place with the world lets visitors experience the extraordinary, find freedom to roam, and discover space to be; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada boasts over 60 million acres of publicly held lands brimming with biodiversity, beauty and battleborn-and-bred culture; and

WHEREAS, wide-open and wild-at-heart natural spaces, untouched by crowds and undisturbed by the everyday hustle and bustle are harder and harder to find; and

WHEREAS, the historic and here-and-now, down-to-earth, and out-of-this-world, neon-lit and starlit are yours to explore 365 days a year; and

WHEREAS, both travelers and Nevadans have yet to discover hundreds of living ghost towns, unexplained art, and sagebrush saloons full of heart;

WHEREAS, there are more sides of Nevada to discover beyond the neon glow, beneath dark skies and off the beaten path – all it takes is getting a little out there; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2024 as
