WHEREAS, Nevada's archives and records repositories preserve the State's documentary heritage for present and future generations; and
WHEREAS, Smokey Bear is celebrating 80 years of educating generations of Americans about their role in preventing wildfires; and
WHEREAS, the Nevada Division of Forestry, in partnership with National Association of State Foresters and the Ad Council, supports Smokey Bear's mission by educating the public on wildfire prevention and its role in safeguarding Nevada's natural resources and quality of life; and
WHEREAS, the Nevada Division of Forestry's Mission is to protect and enhance Nevada's ecosystems and communities through natural resource stewardship and wildfire management; and
WHEREAS, Nevada's archives document the efforts of the Nevada Division of Forestry to manage healthy and resilient landscapes and wildlife habitat for present and future generations; and
WHEREAS, the theme for Nevada Archives Month 2024 is Smokey Bear and the Division of Forestry teaming together to protect the vital natural resources of Nevada;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2024 as
