WHEREAS, the Fleet Reserve Association was originally charted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 11 November 1924 based on three cardinal principles, "Loyalty, Protection and Service." The loyalty one owes to God and Country, the Sea Services and Shipmates. The protection of one's country by advocating an adequate defense to ensure peace: and the protection of Shipmates. Service, the rendering of service to our Shipmates and their dependents in good fortune or distress, in every possible way; and

WHEREAS, for 100 years, the Fleet Reserve Association has represented enlisted personnel of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard before U.S. Congressional committees on every piece of major legislation affecting Sea Service military personnel. For the first thirty-five years of that period, Fleet Reserve Association was the only enlisted association appearing before the U.S. Congress; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Fleet Reserve Association are dedicated to upholding the ideals of freedom and democracy, while working to make a difference in the lives of fellow Americans; and

WHEREAS, members of various Fleet Reserve Association branches sponsor programs that promote strong families, community involvement, and democracy; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada recognizes and appreciates the service, dedication, and enduring commitment of the Fleet Reserve Association and its members to our state and our nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim November 11, 2024, as

FLEET RESERVE ASSOCIATION 100th BIRTHDAY
