WHEREAS, Nevada’s State employees are committed to public service and perform their jobs with professionalism, compassion, dedication, and pride; and

WHEREAS, State employees work to build infrastructure, conserve, and preserve our natural and cultural resources, inspect facilities, license professionals and businesses, enforce the laws, ensure quality education, provide a social safety net, and protect the health, well-being and quality of life of the citizens of our great State; and

WHEREAS, State employees work together to achieve the missions and goals of their individual agencies by providing efficient, effective, responsive, and quality service; and

WHEREAS, the Silver State’s employees have made enormous contributions to help get our State back on track after recent demanding economic periods; and

WHEREAS, State employees strive daily on an individual basis to achieve excellent results in the myriad of tasks that have been assigned to them to increase the degree of satisfaction of those who are being served; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's State employees deserve our deep gratitude and recognition for their professionalism, dedication, hard work, commitment, enthusiasm, and sacrifice; and

WHEREAS, it is appropriate to designate a Nevada State Employee Appreciation Week to remind State employees that the work they do is appreciated, and to remind the citizens of Nevada that public service is vital to a strong Nevada and the Nevada Way;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the week of May 5-11, 2024, as

NEVADA STATE EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION WEEK
