WHEREAS, Nevada State Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Dennis L. Basilio has served with unwavering dedication and exceptional distinction in the United States Army since entering in May 1996; and

WHEREAS, CSM Basilio, a native of the Philippines who began his military career in Guam, USA, has demonstrated commendable zeal and commitment to excellence from the onset, as evidenced by his recognition as Distinguished Honor Graduate at Fort Lee, Virginia; and

WHEREAS, CSM Basilio's illustrious career began with his initial assignment to the 1st Infantry Division, 2nd Battalion 63rd Armor in Vilseck, Germany, and has since spanned across various capacities to include the 777th Engineer Detachment, 992nd Aviation Troop Command, 1864th Transportation Company, 240th Engineer Company, 421st Regiment (Regional Training Institute), and 17th Sustainment Brigade, culminating in his role with the Nevada Army National Guard as the State Command Sergeant Major; and

WHEREAS, CSM Basilio has been a recipient of numerous prestigious awards and decorations to include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and various state and battalion-level honors recognizing his stellar service and leadership; and

WHEREAS, in addition to his military accomplishments, CSM Basilio has achieved remarkable academic success, earning a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management, as well as a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University; and

WHEREAS, his comprehensive military education includes, but is not limited to, the Unit Supply Specialist Course, various combat and leadership courses, and the prestigious United States Sergeants Major Academy Course, all of which have prepared him for the multitude of leadership roles he has undertaken; and

WHEREAS, CSM Basilio has not only served with distinction in garrison but has also represented the United States Army and the State of Nevada overseas in joint exercises and deployments, significantly contributing to operations across seven Middle Eastern countries; and

WHEREAS, we express deep gratitude to CSM Dennis L. Basilio for his more than two decades of honorable service to our country and to the State of Nevada. We commend him for his leadership, commitment, and sacrifice and on behalf of all Nevadans and we extend our best wishes for a fulfilling retirement;
