WHEREAS, Susan Leigh "Jacobsen" Jackson was a third generation native Nevadan, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University Nevada, Las Vegas, graduated the FBI National Academy, 171st Session, and held a Nevada Peace Officer's Advanced Certification; and

WHEREAS, Susan was a dedicated and exceptional public servant who had an extensive law enforcement and investigative background and began her 39 years of outstanding service to the State of Nevada in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Susan began her career as an Investigator with the Gaming Control Board, and continued as a Senior Investigator with Office of the Attorney General; and

WHEREAS, Susan worked within the law enforcement community, spending 23 years with the Department of Public Safety sharing her expertise as a Senior Investigator to the Major Crimes Division of the Division of Investigation; and

WHEREAS, due to her experience and knowledge, Susan was assigned as an Instructor and Training Consultant for the Commission on Peace Officer's Standards and Training; and

WHEREAS, in 2008, Susan accepted a Gubernatorial Appointment as a Commissioner to the Board of Parole Commissioners and had three additional Gubernatorial Reappointments during her 15 years with the Parole Board; and

WHEREAS, Susan will be sincerely missed, both professionally and personally, by all those who had the pleasure and good fortune to know her and work with her; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety, the Board of Parole Commissioners, and the State of Nevada join alongside her friends and co-workers in expressing our profound and sincere appreciation for Susan's 39 years of outstanding and dedicated service to the residents of the Silver State and thank her for a job well done;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim June 27th, 2024
