WHEREAS, on February 2, 2024, Vahndra McConnell is retiring from the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services after 30 years of loyal, diligent, and exceptional public service to the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Vahndra began her professional career with the State of Nevada on January 24, 1994, at Vital Records. Her career included a total of 4 years at Vital Records, 15 years at Department of Information Technology (now known as Office of the Chief Information Officer), and 11 years at the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services; and
WHEREAS, Vahndra has served under 6 Nevada Governors: Bob Miller, Kenny Guinn, Jim Gibbons, Brian Sandoval, Steve Sisolak, and Joe Lombardo. During her tenure, she has mentored her fellow employees, providing a helping hand and guiding voice to enable those around her to reach their greatest potential; and
WHEREAS, Vahndra spent the bulk of her career in IT Support roles, offering a familiar voice and dependable expertise to thousands of her fellow employees throughout the State of Nevada, enabling them to serve many more thousands of their fellow Nevadans; and
WHEREAS, Vahndra has reliably performed her duties with great skill and a friendly demeanor, has left a lasting impression on those who have had the pleasure and good fortune of working with her, and in so doing has made a positive impact on her workplace personally and professionally; and
WHEREAS, in honor of Vahndra and in recognition of her significant contributions to the State of Nevada, her friends and co-workers would like to thank and commend her for 30 years of devoted and honorable service, and extend their best wishes for a healthy, happy, prosperous, and fulfilling retirement;
