WHEREAS, Linda DeSantis has served the Silver State with distinction and professional excellence for over 25 years; and
WHEREAS, Linda began her career in state service under Governor Bob Miller, she dedicatedly served through the administrations of the past five Governors, including Governor Kenny Guinn, Governor Jim Gibbons, Governor Brian Sandoval, Governor Steve Sisolak, and now, Governor Joe Lombardo. Throughout her time, she played a crucial role in managing the online presence of the last five Governors, ensuring the prompt posting of press releases, executive actions and other essential information; and
WHEREAS, Linda became a part of the State of Nevada, Department of Information Technology in 1998, taking on the responsibility of ensuring the state's Year 2000 (Y2K) compliance. Post Y2K era, she was seconded to the Department of Motor Vehicles, contributing her expertise to the Quality Assurance efforts for the state's inaugural online licensing renewal system; and
WHEREAS, in 2000, Linda assumed the role of overseeing the state's web presence, managing two Microsoft Front Page websites: the Official State of Nevada website and the Governor's website. She took significant measures to ensure their ADA compliance. Linda played a pivotal role in the development of the Silver Source Forms Portal, a comprehensive platform enabling constituents to conveniently access forms from any State of Nevada agency through a centralized and user-friendly portal; and
WHEREAS, during Linda's leadership spanning over 20 years, the state's web presence grew significantly from 2 to 115 websites managed by the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). She led the development of the state's first Content Management System and established an ADA compliance program; and
WHEREAS, Linda introduced the ADA Help System and created the HAL Tracking System. Linda played a crucial role in facilitating the state's acquisition of an ADA monitoring system, empowering state agencies to ensure their websites are ADA compliant; and
WHEREAS, Linda will be sincerely missed by all who have had the pleasure and good fortune to work with her throughout her tenure with the state; and
WHEREAS, in honor of Linda and in recognition of her contributions to the State of Nevada, on behalf of all Nevadans, we extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for her 25+ years of professional excellence and loyal service and wish her a healthy, happy, and fulfilling retirement filled with safe travels;
