WHEREAS, on August 23, 2024, Susan Palmer retired from the Division of Child and Family Services after 29 years of State service; and
WHEREAS, Susan served the State of Nevada with unwavering commitment, dedication, and professionalism in the fields of administration, health statistics and planning, children's welfare, and information services; and
WHEREAS, during Susan’s years of service she served in several capacities throughout the State of Nevada, beginning as Administrative Assistant 1 with the Department of Health and Human Services in 1995, earning promotions in the administrative assistant classification for both the Division of Public and Behavioral Health and the Division of Child and Family Services until 2022 as an Administrative Assistant 2 and Administrative Assistant 3; and
WHEREAS, she ended her career with the Division of Child and Family Services as an IT Technician 4; and
WHEREAS, Susan was part of the original team to redesign the Interstate Compact of the Placement of Children program assisting in the transfer from paper to e-files to increase efficiencies and response times; and
WHEREAS, throughout her career Susan demonstrated remarkable expertise in office management, teamwork, the Family Programs Office and service to others, thereby enriching the workforce of the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, on behalf of all Nevadans we extend to Susan Palmer our sincere thanks and gratitude for her years of professional excellence and loyal service to the State of Nevada;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim December 23, 2024, as a day in honor of
