WHEREAS, Eduardo Ramirez is retiring after serving the Silver State with distinction for over 28 years, where he consistently displayed loyalty and dedication and has been a model of integrity for the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS); and

WHEREAS, Eduardo began his career with the State of Nevada on March 18, 1996, as an Eligibility Certification Specialist at the Charleston District Office. In July 2002, he was promoted to Family Services Supervisor at the Henderson District Office. From November 2009 to October 2010, Eduardo was the acting manager for the Owens District Office. In November 2013, Eduardo was promoted to Social Services Manager I, managing Quality Assurance (QA) formerly known as Quality Integrity (QI); and

WHEREAS, in March 2014, Eduardo was promoted to Social Services Manager II at the Lewis Complex in-charge for the eligibility team. With his red backpack in tow, he was then promoted to Social Services Manager IV in March 2015, assigned to the Owens District Office. Eduardo was promoted to his current position as Social Services Manager V, over Field Operations, in March 2022; and

WHEREAS, Eduardo spearheaded and was involved in many special projects over his long and illustrious career, ranging from leading the leadership reorganization of the Division's Document Imaging Center and streamlining the Standard Operating Procedure to accomplish the program inception of the scanning objectives and timeliness requirements, helping open the Flamingo District Office in 2004, and piloting the Nellis Language Line in August 2016, saving the Division approximately $480,000 annually; and

WHEREAS, Eduardo became a credentialed Certified Public Manager (CPM) in February 2008 and has remained actively involved with the CPM program to date as a Capstone Evaluator; and

WHEREAS, Eduardo has had a profound influence on most everyone he has encountered, consistently placing organizational interests ahead of personal convenience throughout his career, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues, and Eduardo has served under the leadership of six Nevada Governors: Bob Miller, Kenny Quinn, Jim Gibbons, Brian Sandoval, Steve Sisolak, and Joe Lombardo; and

WHEREAS, in honor of Eduardo and in recognition of his significant contributions to the State of Nevada, the State, colleagues, friends, and co-workers would like to thank and commend him for his years of leadership, devotion, and honorable service, and extend their best wishes for a healthy, happy, prosperous, and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim August 9, 2024,
