WHEREAS, Nyoka M. Pondt is retiring after serving the Silver State with distinction for 30 years, while consistently providing exceptional public service to Nevadans displaying loyalty and dedication for the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS); and
WHEREAS, Nyoka began her career with the State of Nevada on April 11, 1994, as a Clerical Trainee at the Owens District Office. Later that year she was promoted to an Eligibility Certification Specialist (ECS). In 1996, Nyoka transferred to the Henderson District Office, where she stayed until the opening of the Flamingo District Office in 2003; and
WHEREAS, in 2012, Nyoka was promoted to Quality Control Specialist I with the Quality Assurance team at the Lewis Complex, before transitioning back to the Henderson District Office in 2014, where she has been a mainstay and model of consistency; and
WHEREAS, Nyoka has had a profound influence on most everyone she has encountered, distinguishing herself through her commitment and service throughout her career, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Nyoka has served under the leadership of 6 Nevada Governors: Bob Miller, Kenny Quinn, Jim Gibbons, Brian Sandoval, Steve Sisolak and Joe Lombardo; and
WHEREAS, in honor of Nyoka and in recognition of her significant contributions to the State of Nevada, colleagues, friends and co-workers would like to thank and commend her for her years of dedication, devotion and honorable service, and extend their best wishes for a healthy, happy, prosperous, and fulfilling retirement;
