WHEREAS, on September 1, 2023, Richard Dause is retiring from the Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Rural Clinics after a total of 34 years of loyal, diligent and exceptional public service to the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Richard began his career with the State of Nevada in 1986 as a janitor at Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services where he worked for approximately 14 years; and
WHEREAS, Richard began his career with the State of Nevada in 1986 as a janitor at Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services where he worked for approximately 14 years; and
WHEREAS, Richard returned to State service as an Accounting Assistant 2 and promoted to an Administrative Assistant Supervisor at Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services; and
WHEREAS, Richard promoted to a Management Analyst for Rural Clinics in 2015 monitoring budgets and contracts and managing pharmacy benefits; and
WHEREAS, Richard created a system to obtain free and/or affordable medications for uninsured clients through patient assistance programs, which was a significant cost saving measure for the State of Nevada and DPBH; and
WHEREAS, Richard has provided valuable services to multiple persons, communities, and coworkers in multiple locations including inpatient and outpatient mental health departments and fiscal departments within DPBH. Richard has developed positive working relationships with the DPBH team; and
WHEREAS, during his 34 years of service Richard has worked under seven Governors including Richard Brian, Bob Miller, Kenny Guinn, Jim Gibbons, Brian Sandoval, Steve Sisolak, and Joe Lombardo as well as countless Agency Managers and Administrators including recent Division Administrator Cody Phinney and current Agency Manager Ellen Richardson-Adams; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Rural Clinics on behalf of its employees and clients extend to Richard Dause sincere appreciation and gratitude for his 34 years of outstanding commitment and excellence in service to the Citizens of the Silver State. He is able to leave his position with dignity and grace knowing that he has made a difference in our community;
