WHEREAS, Jennifer Hamilton is retiring from the Governor’s Finance Office after 30 years of loyal, diligent and exceptional public service to the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer began her career with the State of Nevada on May 7, 1993; she has worked for Nevada Department of Transportation, Department of Motor Vehicles, Nevada Division of Forestry and the Governor’s Finance Office; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer was incredible to work with. She has always been organized and on top of her game in whatever she is tasked with. She would come to Multimedia for some of her office projects, and she was a big part in making the annual NDOT Summer Bash successful as it was. She always managed to get great sponsors and excellent raffle prizes. Jennifer is one of those coworkers that anyone would be honored to work with; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Hamilton worked for the Governor’s Finance Office from 9/10/18 to 5/30/2020. While Jennifer worked as an MAIII Grants Analyst, she served as a vital team member with the Division by managing millions of natural resource and wildland fire grant funds annually to the benefit of the State and public. Jennifer used her wit and good attitude daily to maintain team unity and performance; and
WHEREAS, during Jennifer's employment with the GFO (June 1, 2020 to current) she assisted in the coordination and management of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act Funding through the pandemic. She specifically worked closely with the counties, coordinating applications and the funding of necessary projects; and
WHEREAS, in the 2019 Legislative Session a wrongful conviction law passed for persons wrongfully imprisoned to receive compensation. Jennifer created the approval and payment process for this new law. Jennifer successfully completed two Governors Recommends Budget Phases, with one Governor transition, and two Legislative Sessions. She placed an emphasis on high integrity and work ethic for this duration as well; and
WHEREAS, in 30 years of State service Jennifer has worked under six Governors including Bob Miller, Kenny Guinn, Jim Gibbons, Brian Sandoval, Steve Sisolak, and Joe Lombardo; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer is one of those coworkers that anyone would be honored to work with. She used her wit and good attitude daily to maintain team unity and performance. She placed an emphasis on high integrity and work ethic throughout her duration with the State;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim September 29, 2023 as a day in honor of
