WHEREAS, the state of Nevada recognizes World Esports Day for bringing people from around the world together, fostering inclusivity, and celebrating friendly competition; and

WHEREAS, Esports has become a significant part of entertainment, allowing individuals of all backgrounds to participate, spectate, and engage in thrilling virtual battles, whether as professional players, passionate fans, or content creators; and

WHEREAS, Esports education and awareness are important for everyone involved in the Esports world, from professional gaming organizations to amateur leagues, fans, streamers, event organizers, and anyone who enjoys gaming on PCs, consoles, mobile devices, or other online platforms; and

WHEREAS, the state of Nevada seeks to inspire, engage, and educate the public about the exciting opportunities and career paths in Esports, highlighting how it promotes cultural exchange, global friendships, and unity; and

WHEREAS, organizations like the International Esports Federation (IESF), the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), and the Esports Association (EA) are working hard promoting the importance of fair play, integrity, and responsible practices in Esports, building a global community based on respect and trust; and

WHEREAS, the World Esports Celebration was inaugurated in 2023 to commemorate the global significance of Esports, recognizing that Esports is a shared passion that transcends borders, cultures, and languages; and

WHEREAS, the global Esports community, in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Allied Esports/HyperX Arena, Nevada Esports Education League, Twitch.tv, and various national Esports associations, acknowledges October as the World Esports Celebration Month; all Esports enthusiasts are encouraged to join in the festivities, engage in Esports events, share their love for gaming, and promote Esports as a force for unity, diversity, and global celebration;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim October 21, 2023 as

WORLD ESPORTS DAY IN NEVADA
