WHEREAS, Nevada's archives and records repositories preserve the State's documentary heritage for present and future generations; and

WHEREAS, these archives include government records, photographs, maps, film, oral recordings, manuscripts, journals, electronic media, and other materials contributing to Nevada's history; and

WHEREAS, to ensure transparency in government, the public has access to the records contained in the archives; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's archives serve as the institutional memory that preserves records for the continuity of government and provides the maintenance of rights and entitlements for the State and its citizens; and

WHEREAS, the theme for Nevada Archives Month 2023 is 'Nursing in Nevada: Celebrating the State Board of Nursing Centennial' and this month provides an opportunity for Nevadans to explore their history through our documented heritage;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2023 as
