WHEREAS, Zelzah Shriners Las Vegas provides help to those that are less fortunate in Southern Nevada, especially our local children who suffer from burns and other debilitating diseases by providing compassionate care through their outreach clinics and transporting them to the Shriners Children's Specialty Care medical facility in Pasadena, California; and
WHEREAS, as their foundational purpose is to serve the community, Zelzah Shriners provides Southern Nevada with service dedicated to their principals of patriotism, fidelity and courage and cherishing independence under law and freedom with individual responsibility in their service to others without reservation; and
WHEREAS, their creed allows them to emanate the fraternal affection and respect that is shared amongst each other and their family by honoring their parents, wives, and children; and
WHEREAS, Zelzah Shriners and Shriners Children's specialize in pediatric care, providing hope and healing to children for more than 100 years providing specialty care treating burns, colorectal and gastrointestinal disorders, craniofacial and orthopedic conditions as well as providing pediatric surgery, sports medicine and other treatment while being committed to conducting research for improvements to medical treatments and quality of life for all patients; and
WHEREAS, the work that Zelzah Shriners is never-ending as they are one of the world's largest philanthropies constantly displaying their covenant to support their "temples of mercy" cause with spirit, time, talent and means;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim October 21, 2023 as a day in recognition of the
