WHEREAS, Naveen Yelamanchili is retiring from the Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation after 25 years of dedicated service to the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Naveen just after his graduation from University of Las Vegas joined State service in August 1998 as a Public Service Intern for the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR); and

WHEREAS, he was promoted to Information System Specialist I in 2000, and progressed to Information System Specialist II in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Naveen developed the first Internet claims application allowing Nevada claimants to file for their unemployment benefits online; and

WHEREAS, he was promoted to an Information Systems Specialist III in 2003 and developed the inhouse Appeals System for Employment Security Division; he maintained the workforce system called One Stop Operating System (OSOS); and

WHEREAS, Naveen after a brief period at Department of Public Safety rejoined DETR in 2007 as Database Administrator; he has been a versatile employee having worked on application development as well as Database Administration and Information Security areas with equal adept; and

WHEREAS, he worked on multiple projects over the years to improve the database infrastructure and security of the DETR's mission critical application UInv; in 2017 Naveen was promoted to Information Technology Professional IV in Information Security Office and worked on upgrading the critical Oracle Security Suite applications to the cloud infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, Naveen took a lateral transfer to Enterprise IT services (EITS) for a brief period from 2017 to 2022 before returning back to DETR as ISO working on critical Social Security and Internal Revenue Service and Mandiant audits and Disaster Recovery Plans; Naveen's hard work, dedication, versatility, organizing skills and adept technical skills sets him as a role model for everyone to follow; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Information Technology Division and the State of Nevada joins with co-workers and management in expressing our profound and sincere appreciation for his 25 years of outstanding service to the citizens of our Silver State, earning him the right to enjoy a most deserving and happy retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim October 6, 2023 as a day in honor of
