WHEREAS, Nevada educators mold future citizens through guidance and education; and

WHEREAS, Nevada educators provide opportunities for students to develop skills for success in life and work; and

WHEREAS, Nevada educators connect students and families to the world around them and to ensure education transcends the classroom walls; and

WHEREAS, Nevada educators spend countless hours beyond the school day preparing lessons, coaching students, and engaging in exemplary professional learning to ensure every student excels; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's educators empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to reach their potential and achieve their dreams; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's educators are essential to empowering families and communities to support our children and contribute to the growth and progress of our state; and

WHEREAS, the over 500,000 students in Nevada and their families are grateful for all that educators do to ensure students receive the best education possible; and

WHEREAS, the state of Nevada holds educators in high regard and recognizes the immense value of their profession; and

WHEREAS, as Nevadans we observe this week by taking time to recognize and acknowledge the impact of educators on our lives;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim May 7-13, 2023 as
