WHEREAS, Law Day is a day for Americans to appreciate our laws and our Constitution, and since 1958 this occasion has been honored each year by a Presidential Proclamation; and
WHEREAS, the theme for this year’s Law Day is “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration” and at times throughout our nation’s history, there have been division in society, incivility in public discourse and insufficient understanding about the Constitution; and
WHEREAS, the theme for this year’s Law Day is “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration” and at times throughout our nation’s history, there have been division in society, incivility in public discourse and insufficient understanding about the Constitution; and
WHEREAS, promoting collaboration to overcome our differences and resolve our disputes can improve the bonds of affection between citizens and reinforce that constitutional order protects the blessings of liberty; and
WHEREAS, promoting public understanding of the roots of our freedom is an important component of strengthening trust in our government institutions;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2023 as
LAW DAY IN NEVADA
