WHEREAS, historic preservation is a tool for managing growth and sustainable development, revitalizing neighborhoods, fostering local pride and maintaining community character while enhancing livability; and

WHEREAS, it is important to celebrate the role of history in our lives and the contributions made by individuals in helping to preserve the tangible aspects of the heritage that has shaped us as a people; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada is home to many sites, both urban and rural that are rich in culture and archeological discoveries and many are listed on the National Register of Historic Places; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of May 2023 as
