WHEREAS, Anthony "Tony" Yarbrough served our nation honorably in the U.S. Navy obtaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer following a decade of service in the U.S. Armed Forces and also served an additional six years in the Ready Reserve as a Machinery Repairman 1st Class; and

WHEREAS, following his military service, the Yerington resident continued to serve the great State of Nevada as well as his fellow veterans, military members, and their families through the establishment of the United Veterans Legislative Council, also known as the UVLC; and

WHEREAS, through the UVLC, Tony ensured veterans, military members, and their families had a strong, loud, and unified voice before the Nevada Legislature; and

WHEREAS, Tony's UVLC work ensured veteran-friendly legislation passed, while making sure to defeat non-friendly legislation, that would harm veterans or the veteran's community; and

WHEREAS, upon Tony's death on May 29, 2022, he left an indelible legacy and will always be remembered for greatly improving the lives of countless Nevada veteran; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim March 15, 2023 as a day of remembrance of
