WHEREAS, we honor Dale Erquiaga, who has dedicated over three decades of his life to serving Nevada, leaving an indelible mark on our community; and
WHEREAS, Dale Erquiaga's journey began in Churchill County, Nevada, where he developed a strong foundation rooted in hard work, community, and guiding values; his rich Basque heritage shaped his identity, instilling in him a deep sense of community, cultural pride, and the importance of preserving traditions; and
WHEREAS, Dale Erquiaga pursued Political Science at the University of Nevada, Reno, immersing himself in knowledge and broadening his perspectives as a Student Government Senator, demonstrating his passion for learning and governance; and
WHEREAS, Dale Erquiaga's distinguished track record of organizational leadership, fiscal management, policy research and development, and strategic planning includes notable positions such as Chief Deputy Secretary of State, Executive Director, Government Affairs, Public Policy & Strategic Planning for the Clark County School District, Senior Advisor to the Office of Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, State Superintendent of Public Instruction at the Nevada Department of Education, President & CEO and Visiting Fellow at Communities In Schools, Executive Director at Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities, and as Acting Chancellor of the Nevada System for Higher Education; and
WHEREAS, Dale Erquiaga's commitment to mentorship has made a lasting impact, fostering the next generation of leaders; and
WHEREAS, Dale Erquiaga's unwavering commitment to the betterment of Nevada has resulted in remarkable achievements, expanding educational opportunities, advocating for policy reforms, and positively impacting the lives of students and families, most notably being recognized as a thought leader and trailblazer in education reform and advocacy; and
WHEREAS, as Dale Erquiaga retires from his distinguished career, we recognize his outstanding contributions, celebrate his legacy of service, and express our deepest gratitude for his tireless efforts in making Nevada a better place; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada acknowledges and honors Dale Erquiaga for his remarkable contributions, celebrates his enduring legacy of service, and extends its deepest appreciation and gratitude for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication in making Nevada a better place; and further extends heartfelt wishes for a fulfilling retirement ahead;
