WHEREAS, As Governor, Joe Lombardo champions volunteers and values the work of citizens to fortify the work of the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, the Board of the Divisions of Museums and History has been filled by champions of Nevada history, a keystone of the work done in the last thirty-seven years has been the efforts of board member Bob Stoldal; and

WHEREAS, he was first appointed to the Board of Museum and History by Governor Richard Bryan and served from 1986 to 1992 and then re-appointed to the museum board by Governor Guinn in 1999, serving until 2023; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Stoldal's board tenure has included the review, nomination, and listing of 105 unique resources representing the diversity of Nevada's significant places vary from emigrant trails to schools and courthouses, from railroad locomotives to B-29 bombers, and from resources sacred to Native American Tribes to churches of many faiths; and

WHEREAS, he worked assiduously during the development of the 2002 Conservation Bond which resulted in a $200 million bond issue that included $35 million which was used to build the state of the art facility the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Stoldal's abiding interest in the history of the Silver State and his continual support for historical research and quality scholarship has had a significant and positive impact on the National Register of Historic Places for Nevada; and

WHEREAS, he has served on the Las Vegas Historic Resources Commission, Las Vegas City Historic Preservation Commission, the Preserve Nevada Board, The National Atomic Testing Museum, Nevada State Commission on Cultural Affairs and Historic Places; the Nevada Commission on Tourism, and The Mob Museum; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Stoldal has certainly been generous with his time, but also donating significant personal gifts to the Division and Nevada preservation efforts;

WHEREAS, Mr. Stoldal’s efforts leading Department of Museums and History volunteers, serving a myriad of cultural organizations in Nevada, and his dedication to excellence demonstrate his commitment to promoting cultural, historical, and preservation initiatives in Nevada for all Nevadans;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim June 8, 2023 as a day in honor of
