WHEREAS, Darin Tedford started his journey with the Nevada Department of Transportation as an Engineering Student in May of 1992 to August of 1992; and

WHEREAS, Darin came back to the Department of Transportation in January of 1994 as a Staff 1, Associate Engineer working in Roadway Design assisting in the development of new construction plans; and

WHEREAS, Darin was promoted to Supervisor 2, Associate Engineer, in Roadway Design and served from 1996 to 1999 receiving another promotion to Principal Pavement Engineer in the Materials Division; and

WHEREAS, Darin continued to apply the same level of commitment to the Department and in April of 1999, he was promoted to a managerial position, Principal Bituminous Engineer in the Materials Division; and

WHEREAS, in 2012, Darin became the Principal Structural Engineer in the Materials Division, supervising the Structural Lab, Concrete Operations, and Chemical Lab; and

WHEREAS, Darin’s dedication and institutional knowledge led to another promotion to Assistant Chief of Materials, responsible for pavement designs, structural materials testing, and project coordination for concrete materials, from 2015 to 2016; and

WHEREAS, Darin was promoted to Chief of Materials in 2016, supervising 81 team members in both Carson City and Las Vegas; and

WHEREAS, Darin was appointed by Director Kristina Swallow to the Executive Team as the Assistant Director of Operations in January of 2020, and furthered the vision and delivery of NDOT's program by accepting an appointment to Deputy Director of Project Management in January of 2021; and

WHEREAS, Darin finished his career as the Deputy Director of Administration, appointed by Director Tracy Larkin Thomason, and culminates his career at NDOT as an exemplary example of service to the state of Nevada with devotion, passion, outstanding insight, and humor;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim December 11, 2023 as a day in honor of
