WHEREAS, as the No. 1 state for job growth and creation, Nevada is home to an economic environment where all business can thrive with pro-business policies and a competitive tax environment; and

WHEREAS, August is recognized as National Black Business Month, to highlight the important roles Black entrepreneurs play in strengthening our economy; and

WHEREAS, Nevada is home to thousands of Black Americans, whose black-owned businesses are essential to Nevada’s growing communities and culture as they support families and provide careers to Nevadans; and

WHEREAS, August 21 kicks off the Northern Nevada Inaugural Black Business Month Celebration and we encourage Nevadans of all backgrounds to support, patronize and fellowship with minority businesses; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada remains committed to being a place where black-owned business can receive the support they need to grow and succeed for current and future generations of black families; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the week of August 21-27 as

BLACK BUSINESS WEEK IN NEVADA
