WHEREAS, on December 30, 2022, Scott W. Anderson retired from the State of Nevada with over 26 years of loyal, diligent, and exceptional public service to the state of Nevada. On Jan 2nd he graciously returned to assist with the transition of the new administration officially retiring on April 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Scott Anderson started his career with the Nevada Secretary of State office in Carson City on October 20, 1997, as Deputy Secretary of the state for Commercial Recordings, which oversees the Division that processes and maintain documents of more than 290,000 business entities on file with the Secretary of State’s office; He was also instrumental in the development and implementation of the Secretary of State’s office award-winning e-SoS processing system, served on many boards in different roles and in 2015 he was promoted as Chief Deputy; and
WHEREAS, during his career with the Nevada Secretary of State office, Scott served under four different administrations. Starting with Secretary Dean Heller, Ross Miller, Barbara K. Cegavske, and part of the transition team of current Secretary, Secretary Francisco Aguilar; and
WHEREAS, Scott has displayed exceptional commitment and dedication throughout his decades of service to the State of Nevada, during which the Nevada Secretary of State was fortunate to have him as an advocate and civil servant. As he concludes his public service to his fellow citizens, he is able to leave his position with dignity knowing he has made a difference in the State; and
WHEREAS, in honor of Scott and in recognition of his significant contributions to the State of Nevada, the Nevada Secretary of State, and his co-workers would like to thank and commend him for the years of devoted and honorable service and extend their best wishes for a happy, healthy, prosperous and fulfilling retirement; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim April 30, 2023 as a day in honor of
