Las Vegas, Nev. April 08, 2026
On Tuesday, Governor Joe Lombardo joined U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum for a roundtable discussion with ranching stakeholders who rely on public lands and Nevada state agency leaders to address key issues impacting the ranching industry.
Secretary Burgum and Governor Lombardo issued a joint statement following the discussion:
“Today’s roundtable was an important opportunity to hear directly from the ranchers and producers who rely on public lands about the unique challenges facing the agriculture and grazing community in Nevada.
“Nevada’s ranching industry is vital to the economy and our rural communities. Today’s discussion focused on practical ways to strengthen access to federal grazing lands, support responsible land stewardship, address the critical needs of grazing permittees, and improve coordination between federal, state, and local partners.
“We are committed to collaborative, Nevada-driven solutions to the distinct challenges facing the state and will continue working together to support ranchers, protect working lands, and ensure federal land management decisions reflect the realities on the ground.”
